4-12 September 2021
In a year full of important confirmations for us that have rewarded our centuries-old know-how, our products resulting from the best Made in Italy recognized all over the world, our research and our contemporary and iconic design at the same time, we wanted to be a partner of the most important event that perhaps best represents us by nature and territoriality.
The Venice Glass Week is the international festival founded in 2017 to celebrate, support and promote the art of glassmaking: the artistic and economic activity for which the Lagoon City of Venice has been renowned around the world for over 1,000 years. The fifth edition #VivaVetro! will take place from 4th to 12th September 2021.
The 2021 programme is currently being finalised, and will be published online soon. To be informed once it is available, please sign up to the festival newsletter via the website homepage.
This year’s festival will build on the success of the 2019 edition which featured over 200 events in more than 100 different venues, attracting an audience of 103,000 visitors from Venice, Italy and abroad. In 2020 – the intensely challenging year in which Covid-19 caused the glass industry to shut down for months – the fourth edition, titled #TheHeartOfGlass, was attended by an audience of over 62,000 visitors.
The art and craft of glassmaking is deeply embedded in Venice’s DNA, and thanks to the knowledge and skills that have been handed down and evolved over the centuries, Murano glass continues to be one of Italy’s most famous exports, admired and celebrated around the world.
The festival, which is promoted by Comune di Venezia, is organised by Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, LE STANZE DEL VETRO – Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.
